Chambers was very busy, he jabbed often, and he put quick punches against the much taller Dimitrenko in the early rounds.
Chambers mixed in a good body attack and hurt Dimitrenko with a liver shot in Round 7. In Round 10 he scored a knock down off a three punch combination to the head. Chambers had a big Round 12 to close out the fight, rocking Dimitrenko a final time.
After the explosive twelve round of boxing dominance, two judges had Chambers ahead 117-109 and 116-109 while the third judge scored the fight even at 113-113 (???).
After the fight, Eddie Chambers has now the right to face the WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
With the win Chambers improved to 35-1 (18 KOs) while Dimitrenko dropped 29-1 (19 KOs).
